Newer homes, different problems
Because so much of Frisco was built since 2000, the dominant issues differ from older suburbs: builder-grade fixture failures, new-construction punch-list items, and warranty-era concerns rather than widespread galvanized-pipe corrosion. The first big wave of water-heater replacements is now arriving as 2000s-built homes pass the ~10–12 year mark.
Hard water, tankless, and softeners
Frisco's hard water makes water softeners and tankless maintenance especially relevant. Tankless conversions are popular in the area's larger homes, but they need correct sizing, adequate gas supply, venting, and periodic descaling — worth confirming with an experienced installer.
Large custom homes
Many Frisco homes are large, sometimes with multiple water heaters and complex layouts. That rewards plumbers comfortable with bigger systems, recirculation lines, and whole-home water treatment.
Slab leaks as homes settle
Newer doesn't mean immune: Frisco sits on the same expansive clay as the rest of Collin County, and even homes under 15 years old can develop slab leaks as foundations settle and soil moisture cycles. Leak detection still matters here.
